Earthquake in Pakistan, Five people were killed and more than 100 were injured in severe earthquake in various parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, including Islamabad. Due to the high prevalence of injuries, local hospitals have reduced the space which is providing medical help to the injured by placing matrices outside the hospitals.
Magnitude of the earthquake
According to the seismic center, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.8 and the center was 5 km north of Jhelum while the depth was 9 km underground. And the shock was felt.
Earthquake triggers disaster in Azad Kashmir
There are reports of severe devastation in Mirpur area of Azad Kashmir due to earthquake. According to reports received from there, the roads were broken down and several vehicles were overturned. Two-kilometer section of the road going from Mirpur to Jatlan collapsed and fell into the canal, causing water to enter the adjoining villages, causing further damage.
Electricity and telephone systems have also been affected in the area due to damage to buildings and roads, and land sliding is also being expressed in many areas.
In Punjab, Khushab, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Mianwali, Mandi Bahauddin, Multan, Okara, Kasur, Khanewal, Gujarat, Kamkar, Muridke, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sahiwal, Patoki, Chunni, Pakpattan, Dipalpur, Narghar Shah. Tremors were felt in Mandi and Sialkot, but no casualties were reported.
The tremors were felt in Peshawar, Charsadda, Swat, Khyber, Abbottabad, Bajaur, Nowshera, Mansehra, Butt Gram, Torghgar, Shangla, Buner, Dir, Upper Dir, Lower, Chitral, Malakand and Kohistan. No damage was done.
