Mikey Arthur, Azhar Mahmood, Grant Flower and Grant Lodan not to extend contract

The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided not to extend the contracts of coaching staff of the national cricket team, including Head Coach Mikey Arthur.

In addition to Mikey Arthur, the men whose contracts expire August 15 include batting coach Grant Flower, bowling coach Azhar Mahmood and trainer Grant Loden.

Since the Pakistani team did not reach the semi-finals in the Cricket World Cup 2019, news has been circulating that the PCB intends to make changes to the coaching staff.

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s cricket committee had a few days ago meeting with head coach Mike Arthur and captain Sarfraz Ahmed to review the performance of the Pakistani cricket team at the World Cup.

After these meetings, the cricket committee agreed that changes should be made to the coaching staff of the Pakistani team. The committee forwarded its recommendations to Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ehsan Mani, who approved the recommendations on Wednesday.

It may be recalled that Mikey Arthur’s name was recently revealed to coach the World Cup winning English cricket team.

Current England coach Trevor Bells will step down from the Ashes series against Australia and South African-based Mikey Arthur is also in talks to coach England.

How successful was Mikey Arthur as a Pakistani coach?

Mikey Arthur was appointed head coach of the Pakistani cricket team on May 6, 2016, and the post was vacated by former fast bowler Waqar Younis.

Mikey Arthur’s name was suggested by a committee set up to find the coach, which included Ramiz Raja and Waseem Akram.

Bowling coach Azhar Mahmood has also decided not to extend the contract

Prior to becoming head coach of the Pakistani cricket team, Mike Arthur was the coach of South African cricket teams from 2005 to 2010.

The South African team was first in the world rankings for cricket during that period, but they say differences are brewing with captain Graeme Smith.

He was also the coach of the Australian cricket teams from 2011 to 2013, but during this time Australian cricketers were disposing of their differences.

His experience was in Pakistan when Mike Arthur was in the hands of Pakistani cricket team coach Bogdor Misbah-ul-Haq in January.

After the departure of Misbah-ul-Haq, the Pakistani team could not get much activity under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed but his team was also targeted with Mikey Arthur.

The Pakistani cricket team defeated Mickey Arthur by a minority in 28 Tests, losing only 10 January, 17 in January and one Test in January.

Pakistan’s batting coach Grant Flower’s contract expires August 15 and will not be extended.

The Pakistani team did very well in the T20 team against the test teams and Sarfraz Ahmed’s team had to go first in the world team.

Micky Arthur has been named ahead of the Champions Trophy in ODIs but has not impressed the overall record of Pakistani coach Micky Arthur in One Day International who has been playing in 66 ODIs. Only Pakistani team. Was able to win the match, suffered a defeat at 34 and three matches did not prove fruitful.
