Mikey Arthur is said to have expressed his desire for the position in July.
He has had numerous victories as a coach on tours abroad in the UK. He was the coach of South Africa when his team won the England Test series in 2008. Pakistan won the Champions Trophy in 2017 under the coaching of Mikey Arthur.
It is reported that after the departure of coach Trevor Bells, England will select a coach for all three formats.
Otis Gibson, who hails from the West Indies, has been England’s bowling coach twice and has been with the South African team since the end of 2017.
While Gary Kirsten, whose coaching India won the World Cup in 2011, is currently affiliated with the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore.
